My Work

I am a cardiac scientist

In work I use ultrasound to look inside people and examine their hearts.

You might not know but while everyones heart look kinda the same they are never exactly the same, and each persons heart size is unique to them.

Most peoples hearts are on the left side of their chest but not everyones! So its quite like being a detective when a Doctor has a question about a persons heart and I have to investigate to find out the answer.

My Typical Day

I start work at 8am and finish at 4pm and see around 8 patients per day.

Everyone is different so theres no such thing as a typical day. My first patient arrives at 08:00 and I see four patients before lunchtime, and another four in the afternoon.

I take all the images of the hearts and then perform all the calculations and reports for each of the patients. Some of the measurements are as small as 3mm, so its really important to get them correct. My office is really dark because that helps me make all the measurements so I can see all the tiny structures. So some days I dont even see the sky until I leave work at 4pm. So I like it when its sunny when I leave work!

What I'd do with the money
