Yes of course I did. Science lessons get better and more practical during secondary school, but you always need a good basic understanding. I used to watch BBC Bitesize Science on TV every time. I think its online now http://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/ks2/science/

If i remember correctly, the Solar System was my favourite topic. What is yours?

I didn’t do much Science in Year 5 at school, but I used to like learning about Science at home. I had a big book all about Science and used to read it every night before bed. I loved the page about atoms- the tiny building blocks (like tiny bits of Lego) that every thing around us is made from. Did you know that human hair is over 1 million atoms wide? That’s a very big number: 1,000,000!

No wonder that I did Chemistry- it’s all about how those tiny building blocks work with each other.

To be honest, I can’t really remember what we learned about in Year 5… My strongest memory is learning that ‘Quay’ is pronounced like ‘Key’.

I remember most about Year 6, when we were allowed to make some circuits with batteries, bulbs and switches. THAT was really fun 🙂

What have you been learning about in science? It might jog my memory 🙂

I was a bit late getting into science. I liked maths, art and music more when I was in Year 5. I think that a lot can depend on the teachers that we have. I had an amazing teacher for maths and music. (We had different teachers for different subjects even in primary school.)
