      My first science investigation was in school for physics coursework. I did an investigation into the effect of friction on speed. I timed how long it took to glide a set distance on perfect ice. Then I did the same thing on ice that had been skated on a lot. My hypothesis was correct! Rough ice made you slow down quicker because there was more friction between the ice skate blade and the ice.
