This is a really hard question UniKitty! I think it is the hardest question I’ve been asked. As scientists we don’t really have an answer for why life started in the first place. But we do know that once people are alive they have a really strong desire to protect themselves and their family.
I agree with Jenni- this is a really hard question. We don’t really know why life started, but I guess we’re lucky that it did or else we wouldn’t be here to ask the question! Like Jenni says, all animals, plants and cells strive to live and create more baby plans and animals, but that desire is down to Biology. An inbuilt desire to protect ourselves.
I know that doesn’t really answer your question, but it’s a question that people have been asking ever since our brains grew big enough to think about these things! Personally I am glad our bodies are made for living, and I don’t think too much about why we’re alive, just about making the most of it while we are!
